Service

For over 35 years, I represented people across North Carolina who were victims of negligence. I’m grateful for the trust my clients placed in me. It also was an honor to serve our state’s legal profession as President of the North Carolina Bar Association and the North Carolina Bar Foundation in 2020-21.

I love to volunteer with pro bono legal clinics and support the North Carolina Bar Foundation, including the launch of its Open Door Fund and Fellowship. I’m passionate about NCBF’s mission to unite our profession to be a power of greater good for the people of North Carolina.

I also am proud to serve as Chair of the Board of Visitors of the Wake Forest University School of Divinity as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary in 2024-25. It’s an honor to support Wake Divinity’s students, faculty, and staff and its mission to prepare agents of justice, reconciliation, and compassion.
